Since 2020, we have actively improved our app based on user feedback. During these three years, we have received numerous requests, primarily focused on seamlessly integrating our app into Shopify Admin to enhance the user experience. We remain dedicated to delivering this update within the current year to provide an improved user experience.

How to use the new app version



Open the Shopify app page and click on the BarcodeMan app. The update process will begin automatically. After the update, if you had templates in Version 2, the system will display an alert containing instructions for migrating your templates.


The new app version will be like the image below.

Basically, you just need to click the "Continue" button inside the app, as shown below, and you can seamlessly access all the previous templates.

Lost previous templates.

Since February 2022, we have actively reminded Version 1 users to update. It's important to note that we do not support the migration of Version 1 templates because the template engines of Version 1 and Version 3 are incompatible. Therefore, you will lose all Version 1 templates in this new version. We only support the migration of templates from Version 2. If you can not see the modal of migration, please contact us.

Templates look different than before.
Before printing, please review and ensure all migrated templates function as expected. Despite our best efforts to handle the migration process smoothly, there might be some edge cases that we may have missed. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. In some cases, you may need to create a new template.
The migration alert continues.
It means all the templates are transferred completely. Just the final step of migration has failed; please get in touch with us to finish all migration phases.
 Why the price is different?
To enhance the app's development, we have decided to adjust our price from 4.99 to 5.99. The additional funds will be utilized to develop more features and to hire customer support personnel to reduce the average response time. If you are already on the pro plan, you can maintain the current price.
Can I stick with version 2 instead of upgrading?
Unfortunately, this option is unavailable because Shopify requires app consistency. Nevertheless, you can utilize version 2 for temporary needs. Find more details here.
How can I migrate with BarcodeMan across multiple stores?
Please perform migration steps on each store as each store has its own template.
 Why is the new version requesting permission for customer data?
For the new version, we can now support printing customer phone numbers on address labels, which requires the new permission. We neither use nor store your shop data outside of the app, and all data is only fetched when necessary.

Possible issues

  • We've updated the font list, so the font you previously used may no longer be compatible. If you wish to continue using your previous font, please reach out to us, and we'll assist you.
  • Please note that elements with rotation may have shifted positions; kindly make manual adjustments as needed.
  • If you encounter a pricing popup, you can proceed with the upgrade, as the Shopify billing API prevents duplicate charges. It's important to note that Shopify maintains only one subscription at a time.
